KLINGON KLOCK "The Toughest Clock in the Galaxy"
FREEWARE VERSION 1.00
_______________________________________________________________

Please take the time to review this file before installing and
running Klingon Klock 1.00

This file is divided into the following sections:

 1. INTRODUCTION
 2. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
 3. PROGRAM FILES
 4. QUICK & DIRTY INSTALLATION
 5. WARRANTY & LEGAL MUMBO-JUMBO

1. INTRODUCTION
---------------
Klingon Klock is an easy to use talking clock utility for the
Microsoft Windows operating environment.

Klingon Klock makes use of the Klingon language designed for
the Star Trek(TM) and Star Trek: The Next Generation(TM)
television series' and motion pictures.

Klingon Klock "tells" you the time at the press of a button
-- or at intervals ranging from once every hour to once every
minute.

Klingon Klock is an alarm clock, too! The program's alarm
can be set and enabled easily. The Klingon Klock alarm can
be configured to play the default system beep -OR- one of
five Klingon phrases guaranteed to send chills down your
spine!

2. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
-----------------------
Klingon Klock requires Microsoft Windows(TM) 3.1 or higher.
The program is a 16-bit application that will run on Windows
3.1, Windows 3.11, Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT, and
Windows 95.

Klingon Klock also requires a sound card or other dedicated
audio hardware, correctly installed and configured for use
under Windows. You must be able to play waveform audio (WAV)
files via Windows Sound Recorder and/or Media Player.

Klingon Klock _will_ work with an installed PC speaker driver
in lieu of a sound card, but the sound quality will be
mediocre at best.

3. PROGRAM FILES
----------------
The KLINGON KLOCK package consists of the following files:

	FILE_ID.DIZ
	README.TXT
	KKLOCK.EXE
	KKLOCK.HLP
	KKLIB1.DLL
	KKLIB2.DLL
	KKLIB3.DLL
	KKLIB4.DLL

An additional file, KKLOCK.INI, is created the first time the
program is run. This file is stored in your default Windows
directory and is used for recording configuration information.

4. QUICK & DIRTY INSTALLATION
-----------------------------
We recommend that this program be installed to, and run from, a
hard disk.

To get Klingon Klock loaded and running with a minimum of fuss,
simply create a new directory or subdirectory on your hard disk
(e.g., C:\KKLOCK or C:\WINAPPS\KKLOCK) and copy the entire
contents of your master disk (or ZIP file) to that new directory.

From Microsoft Windows, you can run this program from Explorer
or File Manager by "double-clicking" the KKLOCK.EXE file entry
or by selecting the KKLOCK.EXE file entry and issuing the menu
bar "File/Run" command.

Of course, Klingon Klock's icon can be easily installed into
a new or existing TaskBar Start Menu or alternative Windows
shell group for quick, one-step running.

Once running, all configuration controls are accessed from the
Klingon Klock system menu.

Full documentation of all program features is provided in the
Klingon Klock help file (KKLOCK.HLP), which is accessed via the
system menu "Help" command.

5. WARRANTY & LEGAL MUMBO-JUMBO
-------------------------------
Klingon Klock is distributed exclusively as freeware. As such,
end-users are free to download, upload, copy, and redistribute
by any means, subject to the following three conditions:

1) End-users and/or software distributors are not allowed to
sell the Klingon Klock program as a stand-alone product or
as a bundled product. Freeware means freeware, folks! The
only exceptions to this condition are cases where distributors
charge a fee for the media (e.g., CD-ROM) containing the
program or information services charge a fee for download
   time.

2) Please distribute (and/or re-distribute) only the original
Klingon Klock program files. Please do not distribute
decompiled, recompiled, disassembled, patched, or hacked
versions of the software. If you have any "how-to" questions,
it's far easier just to ask the author (who is always very
good about responding to end-user correspondance).

3) Please distribute (and/or re-distribute) all Klingon Klock
program files together in the original ZIP file.

Before release, our applications software is tested on a wide
variety of hardware configurations, under the most rigorous test
conditions possible. We therefore warrant that the software
will perform in substantial compliance with the specifications
set forth in this text, provided that the software is used on
the computer hardware and operating system(s) for which it was
designed.

the cost of substitute software, claims by third parties, or
similar costs.
